Bani and the Music Map

A drum, flute and strings sounded over Bani’s map. Each melody invited him to meet a person, not guess a country.

Friends welcomed Bani with different instruments. He listened first because respect begins with attention.

Before trying a sitar, Bani asked permission and learned how to hold it carefully.

Rhythms differed, yet each had a pulse. Friends clapped together without calling one kind of music better.

They shared many homes, clothes and family foods. One example could never describe a whole people.

Bani asked, “Would you tell me?” instead of “Does everyone do that?” His friends could share without labels.

Flute, drum and strings played one new tune. No instrument lost its voice; each learned to answer the others.
